I have the most basic sub on Ancestry and so don't have access to parish registers...
If anyone does could you please help me out with the birth of William Tyrrell, born c1836 in Pulham, Norfolk and Robert Tyrrell, born 1813 also in Pulham, Norfolk?

William Tyrrell married Annie Margaret Staunton in 1873 and I believe his occupation at the time was that of soldier in the 1st Kings Dragoon Guards.
His father, Robert Tyrrell, is also listed as a soldier at that time so I would like to find out more information about the military links as the sons of William (including my great grandfather) were sent to the Duke of York Military School.

Robert Tyrrell married married a Susan Bates, born approx 1792 in Norfolk.

If anyone has a way of finding births and marriages for these people and can help at all I'd really appreciate it.

Also, does anyone have any ideas on tracing soldiers back that far? I've done a bit of googling to try and help myself but am still unsure what, if any, records I'd be able to find.

Thanks all!

Yes, I tried William on that site just before posting and came up with nothing. Unless I missed something... but it was just coming up with census info, which isn't what I need.
Thanks

My post just clashed with yours!
I think the Oulham is meant to be Pulham there. See, the census is confusing as William was a salesman and also ran a pub, but when he married in 1873 he was a soldier! Really intriguing!
Thanks for the help Jan!

I couldn't find anything either. Someone gave me the info for his marriage to Annie in 1873 and that's all I've had to go on with his father really. It's like finding a needle in a haystack at times with this side of the family!
Thanks for looking :)

Thanks everyone!
Jan, I'm not sure where they got married as the info didn't say!
Record date was 1873, address at the time of marriage was 16 Stafford Street, Occupation: Soldier 1st Kings Dragoon, Father: Robert Tyrrell, Occupation: Soldier
The ref for this info is N/R 98196 DU-CI-MA-36279 d-277-3-11-098 if that means anything to anyone! I have no idea where it came from!

Dea, that's amazing! Thanks so much! Will look into that!

Thank you Dea! Very excited to see his records now!

Jan, Archie was my great grandfather and that's the right birth district for him (we have his birth cert). The 1911 census is interesting at it lists William as an army pensioner so I'm not going mad! Thank you for that - I don't have access to 1911 census info at the moment.

Most helpful - you lot are great! :)
