Hi sorry for delay, informant is her mother Mary Kelly, date is 4/9/1915, its just that we have other documents saying her name was Elizabeth Ann Kelly and on this birth cert it was Annie Elizabeth Kelly, we just wondered if this was common.

The plot thickens, do you think its probable that Elizabth ann's name is slighlty different ? on my mum's birth cert it says Elizabeth Ann Kelly, and on the admissions and discharge reg it said Elizabeth Kelly, mother Mary Kelly, mother lived at Birr County rd Offaly. Then we found out from local church that she had 8 siblings and father was Francis Kelly, so we ordered birth cert and that says Annie Elizabeth Kelly still with same parents and still Birr Co Offaly. Is this usual can anyone tell me? can we assume it is the correct birth cert if everything is same except name slightly different? we are a bit worried now.

Hi,I have found out loads of info again, have been in touch will the local catholic church and they were very helpful ,she has sent me so much info.

She found the family, and before they lived in Eden rd,Birr, they lived at Pound st,Birr.
Parents of Elizabeth are Francis Kelly and Mary Kelly (nee Murphy).
Francis (junior) possiblyLawrence born Oct 1910
Agnes born Nov 1911
Kathleen born Jan 1913 (my mum's godmother on the baptism cert)
Elizabeth born sept 1916 (My mum's birth mother)
These were just confirmation records so no exact dates of birth. Then there were some more children,as follows
William Joseph (born 20/8/1916,unsure if correct, but woman at church said they often lied about age to get them in to school earlier)
Teresa born 22/9/1919
Josephine born 13/6/1923
Marie Cyrilene born 22/12/1925
and finally Anne Christina born 7/6/1928

I have loads of infobut have no idea what to do with it all at the moment, can anyone find anything more out fromthis info?would be hugley grateful. Marian

Regarding the 1911 Census of your family. If you look at the actual copy of the census the transcribers have miss spelt some of the details. It looks like Mary Kelly's parents are Annie Kelly Not Keay as spelt and Denis Kelly Not Keay as spelt.

The family are also listed at the same address on the 1901 census.

I have a few of my own irish relatives on the census that have been miss spelt too.

Hi, a friend saw the first one on your list andI think it looks promising, they also saw a Kathleen Kelly from Birr birth 1913, so could be her sister,I know it's a bit ifs and buts , but am feeling optimistic now.I have emailed the nearest roman catholic church in Birr to see if they may look for maybe baptism certs for them both.
Thank you for helping

This is a tricky one as Elizabeth wouldn't be eligible to vote until the voting age for women was changed from 30 to 21 in 1938. By which time she may not have been living with her mother or may have married soon after 1938 and be registered under a different name.

If you look at the 1911 Irish census there are lots of Kellys in King's County (which became Co. Offally after the establishment of the Irish Free State)

From the Familsearch.org beta site there are a few possibilities for Elizabeth's birth, assuming that she was born in King's County. Remember too that if the family were RC the "Anne" may have been added as a confirmation name.
