well if she was living with your grandfather in 1927 I would be 99.9 % certain she is now deceased, as probably will be anyone who knew her well . Unless you have reason to think there may have been children?

What you might try and find is a will if you don't know of one ? see if she is named as a beneficiary by your grandfather and in what capacity if any she is named? eg 'housekeeper'.

edit, Was this lady married to your grandfather? if not it is highly likely that her death would have been recorded in her birth name, or former/subsequent married name...in other words I'm afraid, looking for a needle in a haystack.

Another PM - and have advised Alan to post back on here again.

"Sorry I do not understand any of this, all I am trying do is find if anyone knows anything about Rose Green who lived with my paternal grandfather until his death in1927 at 11 King Street Brighton and lived there until 1928 then disappeared."

Alan, there is no chance whatsoever that anyone who knows of this person will read this. hence all the questions, which are aimed at helping you.

As Flick points out, is her relationship to your grandfather not on the death cert?

PM

"She appeared on my grandfather's death certificate in 1927 I then contacted Brighton and Hove historical records and they told me she lived there until 1928 then disappeared".

So there has to be an address, presumably.

But if you know nothing about her how do you know she was living in Brighton in 1928?

Alan, you must have come by her somehow though? A marriage, or birth of a child , I am guessing?

Was GREEN her birth name?

When/where was she born?

What family did she have?

You should read the guidelines about posting requests - at the top of this board, posted by GR

It would help to know her birthdate.
She could have married or died or emigrated.
