Hi all,
I have josephs birth cert, it has him being born in 1846 and his parents were joseph knight and sarah ann warner. I have found a marriage between these two but now am unable to trace them borth.

This looks likely to be Joseph in 1841. If you obtain a copy of the marriage cert and it is the correct one then Joseph's father should be indicated as William Knight, fisherman.

I noticed on the 1851 census his parents were down as Joseph and Hannah Knight. Ive been trying to trace them and find out Hannahs maiden name but not having much luck, so if anyone can help would be really grateful

If 1871 is 'him'....why does your request give his birth as c1843?

As is quite typical Joseph's age is recorded differently on the various census records 1871~1901. His wife Agnes's birth year also varies significantly. I would suggest that his most likely birth year would be 1846.

Although his marriage certificate might show his true age at the time as Flick has indicated the name of his father (If shown) may be a better clue.

Flick, that is him in the 1871 census, the surname was transcribed wrong tho. Perina doesnt show up on any other census so i believe she died young.

Im trying to locate my 3x great grandfather Joseph Knight in the 1851 and 1861 censuses. I know he was born in Plymouth, Devon about 1843 but other than that i dont know much about him.
