I have always thought things were a bit strange and said that Patrick Foggarty was never the father. I have just been through all my mums paperwork and have found some interesting hand written notes.
One says Mary Ann Fogarty, 4 months for larceny 30/12/1869, 1/1/1867 4 months no explanation and then another date 26/10/1851. Then more notes, 20/4/1867 larceny acquital. 10/1/1871 larceny acquital, Mary Ann Foggarty 3 months. 21/3/1872 larceny convicted for 5 years due to previous form. 12/4/1880 imprisonment. 23/3/1870 robbery 18months. 21/10/1867 larceny 6 months. 1/7/1880, 9 months for malious wounding. 23/3/1870, 18 months for robbery with violence. Can anyone make anything of this and does it put Patrick in Jail when Florence was concieved?

The butcher Butlers seemed to be living in the Kirkgate area of Leeds most of the time........ I know the market is there now and wondered if that is where it was back then??

From the net;

It first opened in 1822 as an open air market and between 1850 and 1875 the first covered sections of the market had been constructed after the market moved from Briggate.
