Just to say a big THANKYOU to Chris and Jax for all their help yesterday.

I shall continue to look for my grandma, Jessie Faulkner, every tiny step is a little step closer but with the help and expertise from you guys the job is just that little bit easier (and much more fun!!)

I have her date of birth as 25 December 1903 but no proof as no birth cert.

Re: the Faulkner children. I have birth certs for:
Rachel
William
Florence &
Rosina

but cannot find birth certs for
Edward
Charles
Jessie &
John

I think the last three children are not natural children of William and Louisa Faulkner (nee Quaintrell). Indeed, John was born in 1909 and he is not on the 1911 census.

Jessie died around 1984 ish

I've been searching for her for about 2 years now and seem to go round in circles!!! :-(

Do you have Jessie's date of birth having trouble finding any Faulkner childrens births

It's all very interesting stuff - not quite the outcome I had hoped for but without all your fantastic help I never would have been able to discount Jennie/Queenie so BIG THANKS to you all!

I will carry on with my search for Jessie - I'm sure I'll find that missing link of info (one day...............!!)

I may not have been an option for percy to take the girls until he had a wife.

I believe it was frowned upon for men to bring up young girls alone.

That sound very possible Chris - especially as Jennie/Queenie's biological mum was called Ethel!! I thought Jennie was an unusual name for 1901!

And I suppose it was entirely possible that poor Ethel had another child before she died (Kathleen Mary).

Oh well, that has dismissed my Jennie/Jessie theory but on the plus side at least Jennie/Queenie stayed with her father.

Sometimes the genes stuff can really take you on a wild goose chase and be very frustrating!!!!!
