Found at NSW BDM - death at Broken Hill NSW of Barbara Dawn Ogilvie in 1942. No father named mother Iris Mary - looks like his wife. Newspapers say he had a 2 year old son at the time of his death. Either they had a son and a daughter or ???

Thanks for this. I had worked out he would have been born after June as the service records gave his age at death as 26. I there anyway I can search the SA records to find this birth ?

Yes this is his death. Had a look at newspapers at Trove and there is information there about a son 2 years old. Found at NSW BDM his marriage in 1938 to Iris Mary Mott. Because births stop at 1910 I cannot find either of there births or the birth of the son.

Nothing showing on NSW Electoral register I'm afraid but if this is his death then it may resolve the spelling of his forename:

Name: OGILVIE, STUART
Initials: S
Nationality: Australian
Rank: Gunner
Regiment/Service: Royal Australian Artillery
Unit Text: A.I.F. 2/12 Fd. Regt.
Age: 26
Date of Death: 29/06/1941
Service No: VX17601
Additional information: Son of Walter Duncan and Olive Louise Chester Ogilvie, of Booborowie, South Australia.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: 4. E. 12.
Cemetery: TOBRUK WAR CEMETERY

Presumably because his age was only 26 when he died his son would only be very young and the son would not be likely to appear on an electoral roll for several years after his fathers death.

Can anyone help look up Stuart or Stewart Ogilvie and wife Iris Mary in the rolls from 1938-1941. Stewart was killed in the war and if you have access to this I would like to know the name of his son living with wife after his death in June 1941.

Thanks

Pittsy
