If there is no Father on the birth certificate he is probably illegitimate, and the Father's name on the marriage certificate is just an invention. This could be what Leonora told him, or what he had invented for himself. Do you have any other information on Leonora, such as age?
Thanks

Its a copy of the original Certificate Potty and leonora was a domestic cook at 17 collins cross bishops stortford in 1919. Residence address in 1919 shows only 70 se Charles square .

Hi Janet, Edwards birth certificate says b 5th October 1919 Kensington, although he was registered on the 17th October, although his death certificate says b on the 8th on which he celebrated his birthday, confusing !!

Birth certificate does not show Leonoras maiden name just Cook and no fathers name, although Edwards marriage certificate shows father as William cook deceased army pensioner.
Its become very difficult trying to work through all this, thanks for your help everyone.

There is someone on Genes called Sheila who has Antonia Grima in her tree (although has birth year as 1925).
If you use the "search trees" button and look for Antonia Grima you will find Sheila's name. If you click on it you will be able to contact her and she may have the information you are looking for.
