Find Ancestors

Hello,
Can anyone find baptisms for Bridget Moss or William Stewart in London c1770. They married in 1794 in the parish of St James Duke's Place. I have information on their children, but would like either further info on their parentage or records of their burials. I believe William was a gentleman.

The image on Ancestry shows them marrying in 1793 as bachelor and spinster in the presence of Thomas Newings and Robert Chapman.

Oh thank you, I was obviously a year out.

The burial of Bridget Moss Stewart is one of their daughters who died as a spinster. William Stewart born 1738 seems a bit too old, but a father maybe?

Hi Elissa,

Having searched on Ancestry and viewed the christening records of their children, I have found that William Stewart was a Clerk in the Pay Office of the East India Office.

He appeared as a witness in a criminal trial on 11 April 1810, which can be viewed on Old Bailey Online: http://www.oldbaileyonline.org

He was my ggg grandfather - and I am afraid I am having about as much luck as you finding a birth record for him, or for Bridget Moss. As they were fairly well to do, you would think the records might exist, but I am stumped. I will keep searching and let you know if I find anything useful.
