St Andrew's church, Leyland, has the banns for Thomas's marriage:
20, 27 Sep & 4 Oct 1846, Thomas Moss and Catherine Clitheroe both of Clayton

If it is correct, she would not have been the first bride to lie about her age.

Wow thank you everyone that is great I think you have cracked it as you say john and alice had a son riley and that wont be too common a name for a child so it as been transcribed wrong on Immanuel church on lancs online and the correct one i s thomas moors I have to write it all out to make it sink in .
