Hi Barbz - why not order her birth certificate on-line from General Register Office (GRO). Costs no more at £9.25 than getting it from the office.

This is the reference you need:

Well, John Jennings is the head of the family on the census, as above.
I should know more late next week as I am waiting for my grandma's birth certificate to come through the post.
I have been messed about by 3 registrars offices, they are each telling me that the certificate is with the other.
After what has taken almost 2 weeks of looking, my grandma was born in Killingworth, Northumberland, and Newcastle Registrars office should have this document, as advised by North Shields and Morpeth Registrars, it is not with them.

Thanks

I'm a bit confused. Are you saying you know her father's name was John for certain? You say 'I have reason to believe this is my grandmothers father.' - why?

the addressess: 1901 7 Simmons Bldg, Weetslade and 1911 3 Hazlerigg St, Dudley, Northumberland census are family in question.

i cannot find a census in 1891 that show them both, i am questioning if john jennings was married prior to mary edith as john j jennings was born in 1891. but i could be wrong.

my grandmother isabella lived in Dudley, and as far back as i can recall she may have lived there all of her life.

Thanks

The only marriage I can see for John Jenniings & Mary Edith was 1881, Ulverston. Were they married that early? Do you have them in 1891?

I have reason to believe this is my grandmothers father.
He was born in Dalton Lancashire in 1857 as seen on the 1901 census he was living in Dudley in Northumberland with his Wife Mary Edith who was born in Broughton On Furnace Lancashire in 1859, sons Joshua born in Dudley Northumberland in 1898 & John J born in Dalton Lancashire in 1891, daughters Elizabeth Jane born in Dudley Northumberland in 1895 & Sarah A born in Dudley Northumberland 1900, and in 1911 Annie born in Killingworth Northumberland in 1899 & my grandmother Isabella born in Killingworth Northumberland in 1904.

If anyone can shed some light on these people, it will be much appreciated.
