Have you got access to the National Probate records on Ancestry as this is certainly worth a look at as it cross references to the surname of Martin

Robert is on 1891 and 1901 census with grandparents

All looks exciting dtuff! This isnt my family sadly however Florence May, one of Georges daughter from his second 'wife' has a son still alive and he has now reached 86 and wants to know more!!! Thank you so much for all your help on this one!

Just seen GB's find in 1901 Mary J is still with us.....no wonder we cannot find a marriage for George and Florence !!!

Thank you Vera, just found this too! So he looks to have left his first wife in norfolk with his sona dn gone to London to set up home with another wife!!! Perhaps this is why i cant find a marriage for them !!

Looks like Mary J was alive in 1891....

I cant find a death for the first wife either however i may try to find the son from the first marrige as he as an unusual first name. Chalmers G D Absolon!

It is the wrong George Absolon....he married Caroline Beswick....
