I have tried to find her in 1901 with just a name, year of birth and Plymouth - nothing throws up so far... I'll keep trying as they got to be married seeing she stated married for 13yrs!

Back to the grindstone, trying not to pull hairs out in frustration ;o)

Thanks again,

yes T in Middx but like I said I saw that post after I posted mine, it was not there when I was doing the searching, like you said you didn't mention it

if the 1911 says where Rosa was born it might be possible to identify her in an earlier census by given name and birthdate

just looking in the 1901 census ... it shows Louise ( born in France ) and Victorine Lainey ( mother and daughter )

but no other Laineys ... but several spelled Laisney, you might want to consider that spelling ? the same in other censuses ... it would be pronounced the same way in French so dropping the 's' would make no difference

Chrissie, thanks but like I said.. I've got 1911 Census and yes John Fisher was the head of household.

Thanks, I've just posted on her thread so will delete this when she replies or acknowledged my post in her thread to avoid duplication.

in the 1911 census ... free search at

http://www.1911census.co.uk/search/tnaform.aspx

the other Lainey in the household with Gladdis Maud is

LAINEY ROSA 1871 40 Jersey Jersey

then by using 'wildcard search' for these surnames living with Gladdis Maud Lainey

*A*
*E*
etc.

we get the other household member

FISHER JOHN 1867 44

but someone with a subscription can give all the details I can't see :-)

oh I see a few more individual records were added in separate posts while I posted ... and you had that info anyway ...

Thanks Ann,

Sorry I should've mentioned that I do have 1911 Census her mother was Rosa but no hubby, she stated being married for 13 years, no other children was listed beside Gladys. So that's why I wanted her baptism/Birth to find her father's name.

Thelma, thanks for the link.. That's the person I was looking for.

Thanks again guys
