I'm not sure sorry, there has been talk that my grandfather vin cents, fathers name was young but I have found two records for marriage of a Mary cooper to william young one in Leigh bust the dates don't add up to that on the census, and one in prestwich 1920 but that is a Mary Alice not Ann, sorry I'm not more help,

Yes sorry I think they all seem to be the right one, which seems to confirm Samuels mothers name as Mary, and on the ones where John is lists as the grandfather, possibly the same thing happen there as with my grandfather Vincent, and maybe Samuel was adopted my his grandparents too?

Do you know when she died? did she die as a Cooper?

Do you have any thoughts about the Samuel I found?

Not sure maybe they couldn't think of anything else haha, what do I do if I want help finding information on Mary Ann cooper (my great grandmother birth 1891) am I ok to post that question in this thread? If so what I want to find out is, if there is any records of her living with anyone other than the cooper family after 1910 and if there w anyway of finding out if she got married, would her martial status be on the death certificate perhaps?

How strange...why have they got two daughters called Mary??

Unknown

I could be wrong about the middle name, everyone in our family has always said that was his middle name, but not sure where it came from, so do you think the register above is the right one? and Isabellas maiden is Povey?

beginning to see the pattern now (I did not have authority anywhere to look at the 1911 census for myself). That ties in with the marriage in 1890 on the other thread (image shown at
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-266-12580-48141-20?cc=1788853&wc=10932342
Samuel age 19, Isabella age 20)

It was virtually the last one registered in the qtr! - June 30th

but still not sure where the 'Benjamin' bit comes from

Hello I have the 1911 census ( http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/records.page/image/e1911rg14/5725507 ) I am 99% sure this is the right one, There is a copy of my grandfather vincents birth certificate, but im not sure who has is now, his dob is 27th sept 1910 and his mother (listed as his sister on the census) is mary ann cooper, but there are no details of his father also the address on the census is the same address on the birth certificate, i will try and find out which member of my family has it now

lancashireAnn

lancashireAnn Report 7 Oct 2011 12:42

my post from the other thread

"we arent sure if this man is his father as she wasnt married when my grandfather was born so he was adopted by his grandparents"

does that mean you have identified him on the 1911 census? Do you have Vincent's birth certificate, if so please could you give us the details?

Also I am puzzled as to where the name Samuel Benjamin came from as in all the info we have found he does not have a middle name

to continue:-

There are 2 Vincent Copper's in the indexes

Births Sep 1910 (>99%)
COOPER Vincent Manchester 8d 243

Births Dec 1910 (>99%)
COOPER Vincent Prestwich 8d 389

As you say his birth was 27th Sept either one could be yours as if his birth was registered within 3 days of his birth it would be the Sept qtr one. Anytime after 3 days and it would have been registered in October and therefore the dec qtr one.

edit

The Manchester one probably died so it would be the Prestwich one

Deaths Dec 1910 (>99%)
Cooper Vincent 0 Manchester 8d 145

nice to hear you are sticking around!!! now to see if we can find your great grandfather!!! all help greatfully received :-)

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 7 Oct 2011 01:08

now do not disappear in a cloud of smoke or we'll all feel awful - or I will anyway - let's see if others think she is the correct one - I'm certainly not the best on here by a long chalk so I'll feel happier if one of our savvier helpers comes on and sees what they think - so hold your horses!!!

and if ever you are not sure about anyting, just ask - I put my foot in it lots of times when I first joined - probably still do if you ask around

I think its just safer to not post any new ones cause I wont be sure if its considered the same person/family so then I wont get in trouble again, this has made me feel really bad cause I didnt know that you werent allowed to do that, I just dont know where to look for stuff so I wanted to get a helping hand, thanks for your help it seems likely that this Mary Ann Taylor could well be the right person x
