in one of my own oddly named families I've found that 'Str" is often turned into 'Sh' by Ancestry ... even something as simple as 'Strong' becomes 'Shong' |

They could have left the country, that I do not know. I can't imagine they all died before 1881 with no records, so emigration is what I'm thinking of but cannot find any evidence of that or anything else. |

the 1861 for our ref ... all the info from census records etc is important for searching so what you have, we need, like the basic fact that he was in Berkshire in 1861 |

I am trying to find Frank Strudwick (b 1847 in Sussex) after 1861. There is a possibility of a move to Pontypool as I have a marriage for a Frances (spelt the female way, though on the BMD record there are already two females on that entry so we could assume Frances is a man). |
