Thanks Gillian.

Was just a hope that it may have been who we were looking for.

I think Mel that that Gertrude living West Derby in 1891 is the one who married Thomas John Grimmette there in 1893 -they are together with several children in 1901

Michele,
Thanks for the information about the cemetery.
Always best to get the certificates as there is additional useful information in them and hopefully clears up misunderstandings.

My dad said Arthur is buried in Heathtown Cemetery. I think as this is complicated i will order Richard Dennis' birth and death certs and see where that takes me. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP

Julie

Julie Report 6 Nov 2011 14:31

i was only answering your question which was
>>>So where did the information about Heathtown come from?<<<<
as i thought you were asking me

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 6 Nov 2011 14:27

I think the only way to be sure is to order Richard Dennis Taylor's birth certificate (the reference is given earlier).

I know Michele mentioned Heath Town on page 1, I was questionning how accurate the source of that information was. If Heath Town is close to Bilston then they could have died in hospital in the wrong area, or whilst staying with other family members, even if they lived in Heath Town.

Michele mentioned Heathtown on page 1

patchem Report 6 Nov 2011 14:16

I posted the death of an Arthur Taylor died 1947, age 75, in Bilston.
So where did the information about Heathtown come from?
However, as the children are correct in 1911, then somewhere someone is mixing things up.
Heath Town to Bilston is only about 5 miles, so easy to die in the wrong one?

You knew that Gertrude was born about 1870 (from your opening post), so where did that age come from if you believed Arthur was 1880?

Julie

Julie Report 6 Nov 2011 13:59

Ok......But the only death that is showing where you say he died is this one....but he is not old enough to be the one in the census with Gertrude nor was he born in 1882 like your Dad says

Deaths Jun 1947 (>99%)
Taylor Arthur C 59 Wolverhampton 9b 764

Wolverhampton covered Heathtown in 1947

How have you that Richards parents were Arthur & Gertrude

Michele

Michele Report 6 Nov 2011 13:51

I dont have Arthur death cert but i do know he died in 1947

Julie

Julie Report 6 Nov 2011 13:47

But if he was born in 1882 would he have had a child in 1895/6

Have you Arthur's D/C

Michele

Michele Report 6 Nov 2011 13:28

oh very strange, my dad did say he was born abt 1882 , but because tha census said he was born in 1871 i just stayed with that date

Julie

Julie Report 6 Nov 2011 13:04

Can i just asked cos the only death i can see for an Arthur that died in 1947 & registered in Wolverhampton was 59 so his age isn't matching to a man born in 1871

This is a Bartlett who is in the approximate right area in 1891, but called Lizzie- cannot see her birth on free bmd
Probably totally wrong, but just for consideration as why was she in Wolverhampton from Cheltenham?

Ok i know Arhtur Taylor married Nancy, who on census turned into Gertrude, and all i knew was they had these children
Richard Dennis
Gladys
Edith
Jack
Jeff, who must be Godfrey.

Arthur was an Engineer, so the 1901 and 1911 census all fitted EXECPT Gertrude !

patchem

patchem Report 6 Nov 2011 12:37

If you look on free bmd for Bartlett births in Cheltenham, there is not really a Nancy either.
This is about the nearest to a possible Gertrude:
Births Mar 1869
Bartlett Martha Margaret G Cheltenham 6a 434
Also I could not find her in the censuses, but had not tried under Nancy.
I think you had better get one of the children's birth certificates for confirmation and information, and then we can have another go.
