Have had snow just before Christmas the last two years. I live on a hill....Two years ago on Christmas Eve I fell over on my way to pick my daughter up for the holiday...my arm was black and blue on Christmas day and I still had the lump three months later! Last year I managed not to fall....

Actually I was born NE England and have visited Wales, both beautiful scenery but you can keep your wet, wet and windy weather. I'm going to enjoy my white Christmas.

No I had a nose too...nothing in Lancashire that matches age between 1881 and 1885. Wonder if they moved back to Scotland before he died? And then that's how she met Charles?

Season's Greetings to one and all!

Jude

Well, I had a few credits on SP that I haven't got any use for at present. Nosiness got the better of me!

I'll send the originals to tashnben.

1891 census:
Annie is most definitely 10.
Charles is a labourer/engineer. John a Railway Engine Cleaner. Martha is a Cloth Capper and Janet a Machine Stitcher.

Marriage 23/01/1885:
Charles (widower) a ploughman. Son of Charles Simpson (ploughman) and Mary McArthur (both deceased)

Grace (widow), former loom weaver. Daughter of Thomas Bathgate (draper maker) and Martha Buchanan (both deceased).

You need credits on Scotlandspeople

Yes, how I wish that Ancestry would let us see the originals of the Scotland censuses. I never rely on transcribed versions, always want to look at the originals. I wonder if there'a a site that lets you see them?

Hey, Maureen, don't I always make sense? NOT!

TashnBen have a tree on Ancestry and the death in 1886 is unsubstantiated...it's too much of a coincidence for the ages and places of birth to match as well as their given names. It really needs someone with credits to Scotlandspeople to have a look at the document rather than the transcript. The Wright children have to be step-children

BarbaraFromYorkshire

BarbaraFromYorkshire Report 23 Dec 2011 14:49

Thanks Margee , it took me a while to find them,
I wish I could view the image to see if the children had been transcribed right !!

Best Wishes

Oh heck,Marg. Quit making sense!

I wonder if 1886 is a guess or firm fact?
