Wow, that's brilliant!

Yes Wm's mother died in 1880 and I guess he was farmed out, then both boys ended up in Isle of Thanet Workhouse in 1891 after DHH snr died in 1885.

I did not know about DHH jnr going to the US to visit his brother!!!

Hm that seems to put some doubt on the 2nd marriage to Margaret LOWE in 1911 then. Starting to wonder if there are 2 DHH's at work born Margate c1877-8!!! Surely not, had enough trouble finding the first one!

(To save you some work I have already found him born as Hy David BROWN; the David Hy HUNTER b. 1876 Woowlich died 1876; there was one born in Islington in 1877? But this could hardly be confused with Margate surely.)

Unless he and Margaret spilt up I guess - else why would he have an aunt as next of kin in the UK, and not his wife?!

Can you see him returning?

Cherilyn

Cherilyn Report 30 Jan 2012 08:08

Ooh just realised the BROWN is a definite link to Sarah Elizabeth BROWN...his first wife who died in 1880. Yay!!!

Having found DHH coming back yet, and sadly have to go to work in a bit, no doubt Choccy will find something.

See you both later, Dee x
