Flick

Flick Report 16 Feb 2012 12:36

BUT... the MMN was given as Offord on Zoe's birth

Jodie

Jodie Report 16 Feb 2012 12:38

oh. he is William Rogers. and is deceased On the marriage certificate. But i can't get all of the names to match. on the childs certificate, she says her name is alice Thursby (even though she has not married james) the late white, and formerlly known as offorf=d. Yet she as always supposed to be white.

that's true, bot many of my family alive now knew much about it, i just really want to find her, but non of the names or dates match up. She's like the woman that might not have existed. But she obviously did because i wouldnt be here right now.

We have done all this on your thread that was on General board I contributed over 40 plus replies to that thread with loads of info including some that is being repeated here .

You really shouldn't start another thread about the same lady but add to any previous thread about the same family.

Its not fair on helpers to go spend their time going over again what has already been found and deleted . :-(

Flick

Flick Report 16 Feb 2012 13:23

Oh dear, Jodie, you said on the first page that this was not about the same person.

You really shouldn't have done that - it's incredibly unfair on people who have given their time to help you

And please do not, under any circumstances, delete this thread.

Flick

Flick Report 16 Feb 2012 13:24

You refer to your 'gran' - presumably Alice's daughter?

Does she have her own birth cert?

Jodie

Jodie Report 16 Feb 2012 13:41

my gran is alices granddaughter.

Oh no shirley, this is a part of that, but what you said really helped. I'm very gratefull for it, you actually moved us on because before i was at a loss. This time i was figuring out alices marriages. The marriage for the white wasnt in our discussion, which was what this thread was aimed at. And, i wrote all of the information down that you found for me, i have over 100 sheets of paper which i have put down all of my notes on. You were a great help!

Jodie

Jodie Report 16 Feb 2012 13:48

plus i didnt delete the one that we spoke on shirley, i assumed that genes reunited did it. So i had to make another thread because i didnt actually have one to post on.

Jodie
Even though a marriage for her as Alice White wasn't discussed on that thread its still the same lady/family.

As you can see people who are trying to help but have no idea what we have already found are now trying to get into their minds info that may help them search.so are going over what i already found for you, which is wasting their time.

This is why its said dont post the same enquiry/family twice.

Glad you did take a note of the info posted before you deleted .

You did direct me to a genes thread which suggest you have subs or credits for genes . Plus you can search FreeBMD for free which may find you the info you want .

You wont be able to see an actual marriage cert though , you have to but them with the GRO refs found.

I did suggest that Alice Mary Offord may have been her mum . When th informant on Zoes birth reg was asked mmn?? they may have misunderstood and said HER mums maiden name not hers

I did give you a birth for an Alice Mary Rogers in Portsea and also suggested she may have taken her mums married name if mum married Charles White .
