There were Bampton’s living in Portsmouth, may be she is one of them?

Thank you all very much for your help, I have printed all the info & will see my neighbour tomorrow, & ask her if she has anything more on the family.

Someone queried about the Marriage of Rose “in different county from where she was born? ”Rose was the sister of neighbour grandmother Kate who also didn’t marry in South Stoneham,Kate Bampton Married Walter James Harding at St Paul’s Church Chippenham 21 May 1904.

Yes I queried the marriage...not that I would have thought there a problem, if there was not an obvious marriage in 1908 in her full name of Rose Lydia . If you check on freebmd you will see there were no other Rose Lydia's nor any Rose's born around that time in that area or anywhere near

Thank you for your help & suggestions.

I think I have solved the mystery of Rose Brampton, the info I was given was she married William Stevens in 1911 & had a son who died in 1939, I did find all this.
I then did a search & found that this was a second marriage [not confirmed] the first marriage was Free BMD Marriages Jun 1911 Bampton William J * & Giddings Rose Devizes, [ Also info on the UK free BMD for Wiltshire ]* he was pos son of Frank Bampton & Kate Chapman of South Stoneham,
This fits in with info I was given, Free BMD Births Mar 1912 Bampton Kathleen R M Giddens . S.Stoneham 2c 180

No death found for Bampton William J/ John right age 1911-1915, couldn’t see a divorce in Ancestry index, or in the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website maybe they just went their separate ways ?

I have told my neighbour about the above & suggest that marriage certificates might confirm the info.

Now I an going to look for the other children Frank Bampton & Kate Chapman apart from the Rose Bayles you found, I am getting this looked up.
