for confirmation of his age you need the marriage cert but looks like he was some years older than Harriet

Lovely Shirley, that is indeed Harrietts family, making the 1909 death more likely.

That was one of the death dates I was considering. The only concern was that he would have been 10 years younger than his wife, but apart from that quite suitable to look further into.

Yes Mike, that was what I was hoping, that someone with the 1911 census could help me.

I am tying up some loose ends regarding John.
The only definites I have is that he married Harriett Smith 1901. His son was Charles (1906-1970) who married Lillian Ford 16/12 1928.
Harriett was the daughter of Henry Smith and Eliza Broomhead.
I would like to find out where he came from, and dates of birth and death if possible please. Unfortunately his marriage may have been just after the 1901 census. I have no information regarding parents or siblings either.
The family lived in Hackney. Harriett was born and died there, Charles was born at Walthamstow, and died in Hackney.
I have all of Harriett's information. Charles' children Ron and Barbara may still be alive.
