well what ive found is owen died when william was 2 and phebe was 3ish so they wouldn't of known there father and looks like ann died before william got married so it looks like he just used his own name in father on marriage cert

But I thought that William's father was William NOT Owen ???

The family you posted for 1851 has Father Thomas not William, and not a coal miner.

Hugh appears to be the son of Noah and Priscilla from 1867 and 1871 censuses.

found them on 61 census and no william living with them,would that explain why he was in darlaston on 61 census as a lodger and working as a coal miner which ties into his occupation on the marriage cert

Once you've found out his mother's maiden name you can then look for her marriage to William Worrall.

If the marriage is after William jnr was born it could be that he was registered in her surname

i kow in the 1861 census it looks like william worrall was living in darlaston as a lodger and was working as a coal miner.on the marriage cert i got of him its got him as a miner and also profession of father is miner.

If you can verify Mary Ann's maiden name from the birth certs of other children it would give you a start.
