I am also researching Murgatroyds although most of mine are Armley, Bramley and Pudsey.

I have looked on FreeBMD for you. Could either of these be George? Purston is in Pontefract./Featherstone

Hi Angela,

you would be right on the area, however the dates of marriage you posted are not possible for the particular people I'm looking for as 1899 is the year George was born, and fred born 1902.

Jan...see my comment. When you select county it says Yorkshire from 1974. Before that you have to select the Ridings

Anyway, not wishing to be outdone, I have had another go at it! I've tried a marriage search on FreeBMD for them both starting when they were around 17 years old up to 30 years old to see if I could find them. There's a few possibilities to ponder on around the Wakefield area anyway:
