Sorry I read your post as if you were looking for marriages for those years and not as they were born in those years so you can see my confusion

Anyway, not wishing to be outdone, I have had another go at it! I've tried a marriage search on FreeBMD for them both starting when they were around 17 years old up to 30 years old to see if I could find them. There's a few possibilities to ponder on around the Wakefield area anyway:

Jan...see my comment. When you select county it says Yorkshire from 1974. Before that you have to select the Ridings

Hi Angela,

you would be right on the area, however the dates of marriage you posted are not possible for the particular people I'm looking for as 1899 is the year George was born, and fred born 1902.

I have Francis Murgatroyd to an Elizabeth Clarkson, not saying your wrong as I had seen Elizabeth Wilson too, but was confused!

Posssibly married Elizabeth Wilson.

There is a possibility she remarried, that would match the fact I couldn't find a marriage record for Patience Ward, if her name was Wilcox :-)
