I don't know how to remove that blessed tick from Mike*'s answer earlier, having misunderstood the purpose of the tick--still do.
I see that I may have been working from the Birth Certificate of a different Jane Denton, in which case I must start again from the beginning, with the Ecclesfield Jane.
"My" Jane Denton married Henry Albert lodge in 1865 and their son Albert, who is recorded on the reply from Mike* on the 1881 Census return, is my grandfather. Jane died in 1924.The family lived at Staincross, Barnsley.

My guess is that Jane's marriage cert to Mr Lodge states her father as George, and Helix has plumped for the wrong George. and bought the wrong birth cert for Jane.

The PM is still unopened

The marriage to Henry Lodge in Barnsley in 1865 is the one I checked out earlier. It seems to meet all of the criteria. It's just that Helix is following the wrong Jane and it would be a shame for him to continue adding family to his tree which are incorrect. Good idea to send him a PM as he hasn't returned to the thread.

As this thread is marked as answered ... and I'm not at all confident about it , I've sent a PM asking for more info about Jane's marriage
