As you can see George Farndale died in 1917 so yes the birth cert will confirm John and Susannah were his parents and the marriage cert will only give fathers name if known, but there could be witnesses that could help..

thank you for all your comments and work..
i am hoping the marriage cert will confirm his parents as john and susannah
if so the will confirm his siblings as edith and annie.

maybe i jumped the gun with his birth cert , as i said i am new to this and very eager to get all the info as i had got to a dead end.

Totally agree with you Jax.

I also would only have ordered the marriage cert to see what that says before ordering any others

jax

jax Report 8 Aug 2012 17:20

I dont know why you have ordered the birth cert yet?? that George was two weeks old in the 1891 census which would make his birthday third week in march....I would have waited to see what the marriage cert said first.

He may not have been born Farndale? It maybe a stepfathers name?

George

George Report 8 Aug 2012 17:08

We also were told he had no siblings. but i am beginning to wonder about this too now.

George

George Report 8 Aug 2012 17:05

OK, well i have just ordered a copy of GEORGE FARNDALE birth certificate and also his marriage certificates. They say it will take 4-5 working days to get them so maybe after the weekend.
i am a bit confused about his birth.
i checked all free births from 1890 to 1895. The only reference i found was a GEORGE FARNDALE Born apr/may/june 1891.
Nearly a year earlier than i was told and it is in WHITBY.
The family was alway told and celebrated 02 feb 1892 and born in SUSSEX?

George

George Report 8 Aug 2012 16:03

Looking through the birth records for GEORGE JAMES FARNDALE, I can only find a GEORGE FARNDALE born APRIL/MAY/JUNE 1891 in WHITBY
VOL 9D P 465
It doe not mention a middle name .

General Register Office for the marriage cert - you need to register first.

GlitterBaby

GlitterBaby Report 8 Aug 2012 12:54

Will send the medal card as an attachment

GlitterBaby

GlitterBaby Report 8 Aug 2012 12:51

BUT at the moment we can not prove the medal card is for the correct person

Are you going to get the marriage cert ?

Date of birth on death registration could be wrong

George

George Report 8 Aug 2012 12:48

Thank you very much for all your info.

yes the marriage to my grandmother is correct and all her info seems to agree.
i have found a lot of info on her family as well.
just he is the mystery i seem to get to a dead end.
i did not know he had any medals ?

Just had a pm

NO, HE WAS MY MATERNAL GRANDFATHER , SO THE INFO I HAVE IS GENUINE. BUT I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO FIND HIS BIRTH PLACE OR PARENTS.OR ANY SIBLINGS. THE ONLY GEORGE FARNDALE I CAN FIND IS BORN IN EGTON YORKS WHICH MY SISTERS TELL ME IS NOT RIGHT.

You really need the marriage cert for name of father, if given, and the name of witnesses would be useful

ErikaH Report 8 Aug 2012 10:41

His POB should be on the death cert

Farndale may not have been his registered birth name
