You already have Theresa, Martin and William as single in 1911, I'm having trouble tracing them after that, and the surname variations don't help!

Peter

Peter Report 9 Sep 2012 19:48

Of course, I had not thought of that.

Can you help search for these DONAKEY (DUNNAKER) DONAGHY family members?

All born Middlesbrough, Yorkshire.

Mary: bap 10 Dec 1873
Theresa: bap 11 Jun 1880
William: c. 1887
Louisa (or Elizabeth as you found) c. 1890.

Thank you

She may be an aunt to the absent Mr Queenan rather than Rose Ann.

Likewise, I am now more eager to find the missing siblings. Fascinating!

Peter

Peter Report 9 Sep 2012 17:49

It there a way to find her marriage certificate without paying for it?

Peter

Peter Report 9 Sep 2012 17:49

Oh wow - that seems to be here! Oh my! Wow, thank you!

What became of her after? When did she die? Why is she a cook living alone? So many questions.

Wow this is interesting - can you possibly see her on the 1901 using her married name?! That would establish one way or another!

Thank you.

Hi and excuse me ... I was called away with work and not been on this site for several weeks.

Yes you have found the family in 1891 and as you can see their names changes a lot. I am still interested in finding more about Rose if anyone can help.

Due to the unusual surname, I have had great difficulty searching for several of Rose's siblings. These include Rose (baptism dates in the RC Cathedral, Middlesbrough):

Rose Ann: bap 29 Dec 1871
Mary: bap 10 Dec 1873
Theresa: bap 11 Jun 1880
William: c. 1887
Louisa (or Elizabeth as you found) c. 1890.

Their parents where Martin (c. 1844 Sligo, Ireland - Jul Qrt 1894 Middlesbrough, England) and Mary Panton (c. 1850 Dublin, Ireland - Apr Qrt 1920). Both buried in public graves and married in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England on 27 June 1870.

Mary's married surnames alters somewhat dramitically over the years - in the R.C. registers of St. Mary's in Middlesbrough the name is spelt 'Donohue', 'Donaghu' or 'Donahue', til 1878 when Mary and Martin's son John was born. He was christened under the name 'Donaghy'. When Mary's father was admitted to the Cleveland Asylum in 1899 she was noted as his next of kin and surname was spelt Donnakey, and this was how her name was spelt when she registered her father's death. Mary was listed as a next of kin, under the name DUNNAKER, for his lunatic asylum admission in 1899. Her address was 25 INNES Street, Middlesbrough. Here are the family in 1911:

1911 census transcription details for: 43 Johnson St Middlesbrough National Archive Reference: RG14PN29287 RG78PN1696 RD535 SD3 ED24 SN66 Reg. District: Middlesbrough Sub District: Middlesbrough West Parish: Middlesbrough Enum. District: 24 Address: 43 Johnson St Middlesbrough County: Yorkshire (North riding) DUNNAKER, Mary Head Widow F 64 1847 Dublin Resident DUNNAKER, Theresa Daughter Single F 29 1882 Middlesbro Yorkshire DUNNAKER, Martin Son Single M 25 1886 Labourers Stone Coats Middlesbro Yorkshire DUNNAKER, William Son Single M 22 1889 Labourers Stone Coats Middlesbro Yorkshire

I hope this helps, but I have tried to find more to little avail.

Thank you and excuse my late reply,

Peter
