The problem with the census spreading out is one that I have too. What I do is to open up an e-mail and copy the image. Then paste onto the email using the choice (if you have it) of 'paste' not 'paste with plain text'.

Then paste it back onto the thread on here and it will be fine.

The London Electoral Rolls for 34, Barbican from 1928 - 1935 give the name
Joseph Henry Albert Hobbs

On the 1911 census there is a Joseph Henry A. Hobbs b.1880 in Bethnal Green

He is a hardware salesman and has sons:

Joseph Hobbs b. 1905 - Bethnal Green and
Albert Hobbs b. 1909 - Bethnal Green

But looking back on the censuses (sorry but my copy & pasting comes out too spread out to read properly) Joseph Henry Albert Hobbs' father was William Hobbs who was born 1838 in Merton, Surrey

And what GlitterBaby Posted about his daughter Beatrice's wedding to Richard Valler shows his name as Thomas WILLIAM Hobbs.

As has been said so often, don't take family stories as fact unless you can verify them

You said this man died c1934, but can't possibly have done anything about looking for the proof on freebmd

The man who married Amelia was described as a Motor Engineer in 1911....nothing to do with cycles. (This may have been posted already)

And all the info I posted right at the start shows his name to have been THOMAS only.

I think you have something there GlitterBaby! There is an aunt beatrice & Uncle Richard in the family, Although i think i only ever met them once as a child many years ago.

On the 1923 electoral registers for Willesden Annie Amelia Hobbs is on her own

All I know about albert is that he was born in 1898 in Kensal Rise & was Baptised 13/11/1898 at Kensal Green St John the Evangalist. I have to say though that i have just looked at that photo & he bears an uncanny resemblance to my grandfather. It's really quite spooky!!

Do you have any details of when he died? It would be interesting to see what his occupation was on his death cert.

Looking at the baptisms for his children he is only listed as Thomas with wife Annie Amelia

Now that has me puzzled also. Im sure my Gran, Amelia said that he died in the 30's & this is a long time ago i'm thinking back here, many years, so i could be wrong about his death date.
