Hi Reggie, sorry for long delay been to the shops. Yes it does say formerly Knowd. Am just looking at the cert again and am wondering if it is a different spelling but then you found Anne's birth with Julia's surname as Knowd.

Hi again Reggie, thank you for that, I'd just sent a PM to Eringobragh1916 attaching a copy of the birth cert. Why now is it so difficult to locate the marriage of Michael and Julia? As before I have searched and searched, not that I'm an expert in this field but cannot find their marriage and then try and trace their births. Also Julia's death between 1901 and 1911. I'm afraid I get very confused with the districts and parishes etc, not that it takes much to confuse me nowadays.

The name Knowd appears to be fairly common in Ireland, if that's any help

Hi, am trying to find information on the above two. Michael I'm not sure where he was born but I believe it was in or around 1825 in Ireland. Julia whose surname on their daughter's birth cert is given as Knowd. Anne/Annie was born on 22 Sept 1865 in Doneany. The District is given as Athy, Monastervan in the County of Kildare. I believe there was another sister, possibly Alice or Alicia, not sure if she was a bit older or younger. Michael, her father, is given as a Farmer/ I'll try and list what I know.

On the 1901 Census Julia Curran nee Knowd is given as being 71 years old Roman Catholic born County Kildare and a widow so obviously Michael, her husband has died but I don't know when or when he or Julia were born.

I have searched and searched but cannot find a birth, marriage or death for Michael and Julia. I found their daughter Anne's birth on family search and the parents are given as Michael and Julia but I can't find anyone with the unusual name of Knowd. I can scan and attach the birth cert so someone could look at Julia's surname though if necessary. But Julia is definitely given as Knowd on family search.

Julia is not listed on the 1911 Census so I assume she died obviously between 1901 and 1911. The place she is living on the 1901 Census is Kilmalogue, Portarlington North, Kings County. She is living there with my great grandparents Edward and Anne who is Michael and Julia's daughter. In 1911 my great grandparents are living in Clifton Terrace, Cork No: 3 Urban, Cork and Julia is not with them.

Sorry, I hope this post is not too confusing.

Any help with this one would be much appreciated.
