Hmm, Mary (Garvey) could have married a Carty...that name has never come up before in my family , the plot thickens.

It was Garvey according to my Nan's birth record, my nan was Lillian Leah born 1914, daughter of William George Leah and Mary Garvey.

Could Garvey be mistranscribed as Carty ( or the other way around ) ?

OR

was Garvey her miaden name and she was married to Carty before she married William ?

Thank you so much for the extra notes, its funny to think the family used the church that my own daughter was christened in all those years ago, we thought we'd moved to the 'posh area'..

William jnr did marry Mary Garvey in 1907 but I haven't figured out if he married before and Elizabeth Mary was the daughter of that marriage or as you say the daughter of his wife , recorded as a Leah......I don't have Mary Garvey's census records yet, her parents were William Garvey & Elizabeth (unknown).
