Hiya, thank you for that, I've tried to navigate that site but with not much luck, there must be a knack to it or I am being really thick. I've looked to see if Arthur Charles married anyone before he went abroad but cannot find a marriage. I've also tried to navigate the same site for Arthur's marriage to Annie but with no success, would you please be so kind as to have a look for me. Is it to be assumed that this is the same Clark family has the surname has an (e) on the end of it? I am by no means anywhere near an expert in research hence my asking for help. |

Hi again safc, am now wondering if this is the same family as the Clark has an e on the end. Although it is strange that I have two children born before Arthur married Catherine in 1881 but it does tell us Arthur was widowed. If it is the same family then Arthur John may well be another child of his first marriage. Also Arthur Snr's father was named John. |

Hello safc, thank you for your prompt response and the information provided. I hope you do not think I am being cheeky but are you able to find a birth for Annie please. She is shown in the 1901 Census but I estimate her birth year as 1879. I would assume she is from Arthur's first marriage and of course we now know his first wife's name was Annie. Also, not sure where you manage to find this information from but would it be possibel to see if there is also any more info on his marrige to Annie please |

Hi all, having managed to digest all the information provided I now note that Arthur Charles Clark was a widow when he married Catherine Rogers in 1881. Would anyone please possibly be able to find who he married prior to Catherine. Not 100% sure but it is possible he married in India. I have two children who were born before Arthur married Catherine, both born in India. Emma Clark born 5 November 1878 and an Annie Clark born 1879 both in India. I think Annie was born in Agra but not sure about Emma but definitely in India. |

I'm not sure about the Mills children either but it definitely shows them on the 1911 census as being adopted and obviously looks like Charles and Jessie adopted them. This is a strange one. I have Charles and Jessie as having a couple of children, Charles Frederick Morton Clark (Morton was Jessie's maiden name) born 1911 and died 1993 and also a Kathleen L Clark born 1913 but I have nothing else on her though. |

Hiya Jan, this may well be him as they were living in Kent when they got married and Jessie then went on to marry my grand uncle also in Kent. Well found, thankyou. It fits in between the dates he and Jessie married and Jessie marrying my grand uncle in 1922 when she is given as a widow. |
