On Ancestry, someone has corrected William Magee to William Gee on the 1851 census (posted by Quinsgran in OP)

Can't see a Gee/Whitfield marriage. Maybe illegitimate?

Also, no male J W Guys born in Durham around the right time. (See 1881 census above)
