Early in the 1800s, between 1815 and 1820, William Keoghoe brought his wife, Maria Brouard from Guernsey to Bethnal Green. They started a line of the name Keoghoe that survive today (but only a few). Note the spelling. The name is Irish and the name is associated with County Wicklow and possibly the Fitzjohn estates.

Here's the question. Does anybody know a Keoghoe? Where would I find information and in which parish records about the several children they had? Here's the biggest question of all. Why would William Keoghoe bring a bride to Bethnal Green if what I have read is true: not a very nice place to live at that time. After all, St Peter's Port, Guernsey had a growing economy in shipping."

This is brilliant, Kucinta. The name is definitely Gladden. I never knew my grandad was a fitter. He was variously, a docker, a bare knuckle fighter, a worker in a small steel factory, a bookmaker.
