Christina, I was also looking at that William and Ann in the 1881. The children are the right age for a 1871 marriage and it's all in the right area

Jean, she DID marry a William Lovatt but not the one you thought you'd found on the 1881 - there were quite a few men in the area of that name.

No I have done the Chesters all except Ann and I thought that I had found her married to William Lovatt, but it looks as though I am wrong ?. But thanks everyone for your help.

MC - I too think it's Brassington, but inputting a marriage 1871 of William Lovatt to an Ann brings up those two

Also, quite a few of their children are on Staffordshire BMD with MMN Brassington.....so if you are looking for Ann Chester, Jean, you are following the wrong family. :-(

Jean, just to clarify - is it the Chesters you are researching?

If so, then none of the information we've posted on here is relevant as it relates to Ann Brassington and her family - a different William Lovatt.

Stuart - that's the wrong marriage, I'm sure. I believe it's the one to Ann Brassington that I posted above.

Her cemetary inscription in Connecticut calls her Ann Brassington Lovatt and Arthur's middle name was Brassington.
