Yes I see that there is a difference in maiden names. I was looking into the Chester Family and there daughter Ann and found the marriage on BMD June 1871.

Possibly this marriage as the RD would be nearer to Ann's birthplace of Audley

Just posting the census would have helped to save trawling through Staffordshire William Lovatts of which there are more than a few! Fortunately they were still in the Fenton area but that may not have been the case. You knew who and where but we didn't. It gives us a starting point to go hunting.

Jean, where did you get Ann's maiden name of Chesters from?

This looks like the marriage of the people we're looking at records for:

Looks like they emmigated to the USA sometime before 1888 as their youngest daughter was born there.

What ages were they, where are they in 1881? Can you post the 1881 census that you have them in please.

Fenton is one of the six towns of the Stoke-on-Trent conurbation which were federated in 1910. It is situated in the south-east of the city.

Would someone help me find out what happened to William & Ann Lovatt from Fenton Staffordshire married june1871. I found them on the 1881 census with a family but can't see them after that. Could I ask for help please.
