Looks like George's parents had two previous sons also named George, one baptised 26th Dec 1762 as George Priorman, and one baptised 15th June 1764 as Geo Priarman, twin son. Both baptisms at Bishopston, parents George and Hannah. George and Hannah also had a daughter named Hannah, twin of George baptised 15th June 1764, and a daughter named Jane (perhaps namesake of Jane born 1801?), baptised 30th Dec 1778.

No ages given for these two burials.

I did wonder if they were the two sons of George Priarman and Mary Tinkler, ie Jane baptised 1801's brothers, but that's pure guessing.

OOPS!

Having just re-read your last post I see all you wanted the baptism for Jane, but having done the rest I'll just leave it up now.

Just logged back on. Thank you very much Kucinta. I didn't expect the above but it is very welcome information. I can't understand why George is living separately from Mary and Jane in 1851 unless, being an agric labourer, maybe he was having an overnighter at a farm! :-)

Kucinta Report 31 Aug 2013 22:07

Not sure if it's been posted already , but George was living separately from Mary and Jane in 1841 as well as in the 1851 census (remember age of over 15s was usually rounded down to nearest 5 years in census 1841).

Census 1841:

Address: Brunswick Street, Stockton County: Durham

PRIERMAN, Jane F 35 1806 Durham Boarding school <<<<<<
COULSON, Sarah F 13 1828
ALDERSON, Jane F 13 1828
SKILBECK, Eliz F 11 1830
CUMMINS, Eliz F 9 1832
PRIERMAN, Mary F 70 1771 Durham<<<<<<<<<<<
ALDERSON, Eleanor F 13 1828 Durham

This looks like George...

Census 1841

Address: Bishopton, Bishopton County: Durham

PRIARMAN, George M 70 1771 Durham ag lab <<<<<<<<

It may not be relevant, but prior to the baptisms I mentioned c1730s at Bishopton, there is some parish record activity in early 1700s, late 1600s in nearby Aycliffe for the possible variants Prierman and Priorman.

Thank you for all of the above, I will investigate further. :-)
