Ann Spalding married my gt. gt. grandfather Alexander McDonald on 19/11/1849 in Dundee. Ann's father is written as Jo. Spalding in the OPR.
I am trying to find information on Ann's parents.
Could anyone please help?

Did Ann die after 1855 in Scotland? If so her death cert should have her parents' names.

Is there an occupation for 'Jo'? (Not sure what OPR stands for!).

I have no infomation at all on Jo. Spalding.

The above entries are definitely my family.The main problem is we can only find Ann Spalding with a father named Charles as shown in the above entry.
On the marriage entry in the OPR's for Scotland it states her father as Jo.Spalding not Charles. As we cannot find a birth for her with a father John (Jo) this is making our search difficult.
Do you have any clues to the solving of this puzzle?.
Could there be other entries for their marriage?.
Alexander's full name was Alexander Proudfoot McDonald born 1826,maybe this will help identify the correct entries or solve the Charles / Jo. problem.
