Thank you Chris xx

It would appear that there were indeed 2 Jemima's and it was 'the other one' (the one with the Stanworth family) who must have married Mr Jennings.

SO, where was 'our' Jemima if the rest of the family went to America?

OR, did she go with them and get married over there before the 1880 census?

Can anyone with access find the marriage of Jemima in USA?

This would then give some proof that this is the family we are looking for.

Ages on censuses are not to be taken as 'gospel'

The woman's birthplace (Wales) tallies with previous info

Safc A question... although the 1880 USA census appears to be correct George's and Elizabeth's age's don't add up, but, Louisa's does???

It could, of course, come from the Jennings side.

Just something to follow...

Reggie, To answer your question, his brother William Barrett 1812-1892 whose son William Barrett 1842-1919 was the Father of My Grand Mother Beatrice Maud Barrett 1883-1935

Mike, Yes that is the family and you maybe correct in the theory of the emigration, my sister mentioned a Barrett going to USA.
There was also a son Allen who was born in 1851 and died in 1851, my 1871(FMP) census for Charles Preston spells it as Nursery

Safc Looks promising with those details

Dea Don't have Stanworth in Tree

Thanks once again

I too looked at the USA 1880 entryas the occupation seemed to fit but I dismissed it because he was 49 in 1871 but 47 in 1880 ??

and Wife Elizabeth has gone from 54 in 1871 to 49 in 1880 !

Jemima Jennings died in 1886 and Sidney remarried but there looks to be 2 children born before she died - the second one Richard born in 1879 has the middle name of Stanworth.

Do you know of a 'Stanworth' connection in the Barrett family ??

Births Dec 1879
Jennings Richard Stanworth Wellington, Sh. 6a 760

Looks like you have found them safc - everything fits an his occupation of Wagon maker would fit with his occupation of Wheelright and Carpenter on 1871. Well done !

Also, I think Mike may well have found the correct marriage for Jemima to Sidney Jennings. - Her age is 'out' but considering that he is such a lot older than her she may have felt the need to add a few years onto her age??

The original 1871 census clearly shows the word " Nurserry" (with 2 R's) not nephew for Baby Charles Preston.
Might have no relevance but thought I would mention it just in case.
