I just cannot find a Charles Edward who might be associated with an Abraham, and staying elsewhere

for the information of other helpers .............................

I've looked under Ackroyd

I've looked under C E Ackroyd

I've looked under c e a ........ in case he was in hospital

I've also tried Charles Edward (without surname) ............ but there's lots of those

I used birth years 1904-1906, and born in Sheffield as the criteria.

Yes I know, very strange, had' found 6 charles around that age in 1911 Census but none seemed to fit , will have to start looking at grandparents or staying with aunties perhaps?

SylviaInCanada Report 14 Jan 2014 05:30

well,

I couldn't find any listed as "Grandson", "Inmate", etc etc, under Charles (+/- Edward) Ackroyd

that's why I tried looking for Charles Edward without a surname, in case it had been copied down wrong.

But nothing seemed to fit!!

Jo Report 14 Jan 2014 05:37

just had another look at the marriage certificate an the address is carbrook, not eastbrook

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 14 Jan 2014 06:56

but the street address was still the same?

I don't know Sheffield at all ...................... so maybe you need to check out whether the two areas (the one on the certificate and the one on the 1911) are in fact different names for the same area

Jo

Jo Report 14 Jan 2014 07:03

yes it seems that attercliffe and Carbrook are in the same area. So same address, that's good.

They also had Rhoda 1901 and Doris 1908. Wonder if Rhoda has been wrongly recorded as being a boy in 1901?
This seems to be the 11 children all accounted for, no Charles though.

1911 repeated.

This is a mystery. I am hoping his birth certificate may have more information.

Jo

Jo Report 15 Jan 2014 04:29

So the mystery deepens. His birth certificate arrived today. born 30th April 1905 , East Brightside, Sheffield. Father Abraham Ackroyd, Mother Sarah Ann Ackroyd, nee Shepherd address 7 Court Newman Rd, Sheffield. So where is he in 1911?

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 15 Jan 2014 05:02

so Abraham was right, and we had the correct 1911 ........................... for his parents and the rest of the family!

as you say ....... where is he??

I wonder if they just forgot to put him on the census????????????????????
