EDIT: Yes, it figures - she was born 1888 in USA and baptised when they came back to England.

Her baptism gives her date of birth as 31 May 1888.....

Like his father 20 years earlier, he was detained briefly on medical grounds.

His WW1 draft gives wife's name as Sarah:
