Hello Carol, did Dorothy have any siblings? If so, was the mother's maiden name the same?

It's always possible that her mother was previously married in which case her marriage would be in her then married name, not her maiden name.

Thanks - yes, I'm an idiot! Why didn't I think of that?
However, there still is no sign of a Phillips/ Bigeon marriage, and Dorothy was definitely a Phillips. What if they married in northern France? How would I go about finding out about that? Any ideas gratefully received...my brain does seem to be switched off this morning!!!!

Think you need to start with her birth certificate.

I am trying to find out information about a Dorothy G Phillips born in 1933 Brighton. Her mothers maiden name was Bigeon, which seems to have links to northern France. I have looked at 1901/1911 census, marriage records etc. and can find nothing about a Bigeon family or a Bigeon/Phillips marriage. Can anyone help?
