That may explain why he disappeared off the census. I haven't done a lot of research on him. I only found him relatively recently as I didn't know anything about him until then.

I was never sure about Joseph though. In my notes, I did find a Joseph who was a wood carver but I wasn't sure whether it was him or not.

Thanks Gins. Yes, that's their marriage.

Michael was a cotton dealer or Cotton waste and weft dealer. He was born about 1780 but I don't know who his parents were.

Michael lived or had businesses in
1819 Parish of Manchester
1820 Salford
1821 5 Edge Place, Salford, Manchester, Lancashire, England
1822 26 High Street, Salford, Manchester, Lancashire, England
1824-1825 1 Bank Place, Bank Street, Salford, Manchester, Lancashire, England
1828 Marsland, Naylor (and weft), 37 High Street, Manchester, England
and he was listed as being from Hulme on his burial records in 1835 aged 55

~~~Secret Red ^^ Squirrel~~~ **007 1/2** Report 23 Mar 2014 09:16
Always wondered what happened to my ancestors's siblings. My ancestor Sarah was the daughter of Michael Naylor and Sarah Hewett. I think she was the eldest daughter born in 1819.
I think Michael and Sarah had three other children: Joseph (born 1821), Thomas born 1825 and Hannah born bat 1827. It's these three children that I seem to have little on.
Hannah was baptised in Manchester, St Mary, St Denys and St George, Lancashire, England on Dec 10 1827.
She was 10 on the 1841 census living at 3 Bedale Street, Hulme, Lancashire. I don't know what happens to her after that :
Name: Hannah Naylor
Age: 10
Estimated birth year: abt 1831
Gender: Female
Where born: Lancashire, England
Civil Parish: Manchester
Hundred: Salford
County/Island: Lancashire
Country: England
Street address:
Occupation:
Book: 14
Folio: 14
Page Number: 20
Household Members:
Name Age
Sarah Naylor 45
Sarah Anne Naylor 20
Hannah Naylor 10
Joseph was born on 14 or 19th Aug 1821 and christened on 23 Sep 1821 at Saint John Deansgate, Manchester, Lancashire. Again, I don't know what happens to him.
Thomas was baptised on 11 Mar 1825 at Manchester, St Mary, St Denys and St George, Lancashire, England.
Their father Michael dies in 1835. Their mother Sarah is living/visiting their daughter Sarah in 1851 so no sign of the siblings there and she dies in 1860.
Their sister Sarah dies in 1862 and their is no sign of the siblings on any of her census records before her death either.
Any help appreciated.
(If I don't answer immediately - I'll be nipping in and out of this thread today)
Thanks
