Thanks Ricochet. I have a note of Fred Charles and wondered if he was linked, given date and area (and there are a number of twins in the Barke family). Will look further into that. Fred Snr is noted as being a widower on 1901 census (I think, don't have my info to hand) and also on his marriage cert to Caroline, but that doesn't necessarily mean he WAS a widower! If Edith did go into an asylum with no chance of parole as it were, then it makes sense (although that could be a fatal mistake lol!), especially given the secrecy re her. |
