Does anyone have access to the Canada Voters' Lists on Ancestry. There are references to Violet Oliver and Harold Oliver in 1957 and 1958 for Wellington, Ontario, but I don't have a world subscription. I really don't know what these lists will tell me, if anything, but I do know there is a Wellington connection for Harold and Violet.

Thanks.

Sorry Patchem & Marie Celeste, I don't have any other info than what I've already given. I'm trying to contact my friend to see if he knows any more.

Thanks.

Yvonne, does your friend have Violet's marriage certificate? That should give Harold's correct age, his occupation at the time and also his father's name and occupation.

If we have the correct details to trace him then hopefully we can link her.

There are a few US WW2 military records for men called Howard M Oliver, but not born 1924 (are you assuming he was the same age as her?).

There are outgoing UK passenger list up to 1960 on both Ancestry and FindMyPast but I haven't found one (yet) that seems to be the two of them together.

Is there any mention of Violet on any of the passenger lists and where did you find reference to the passenger lists?

Thanks.

I'll have to check with my friend to see if he has more details. I've no idea what his occupation was so I guess I'll get back to you when I find out. I've just found the birth of Violet which was 1 May 1924.

Thanks.

Thanks - you people are amazing. I'm actually looking at this for a friend but I think she was born about 1924.

Harold Marshall Oliver married Violet Hobson in 1944 in Yorkshire. He was born abt. 1924 in USA but I think went to live in Canada. I suspect he was in the military when he married Violet. What I am trying to find is his return to N. America and I guess Violet's immigration. Any help would be appreciated.
