KempinaPartyhat Report 19 Jul 2014 23:27

Well andrew would have been 28 so its possible. but I,ve seatched and cant find children.

In 1912 all births had to be registered WITH the mothers maiden name so with your family your father would be dennis smith mothers maiden name mcvay with children of Andrew and Hilda it would be **** smith mothers maiden name Warne now I,ve tried and cant find anything BUT

IF andrew and hilda were not married the fathers name didnt need to be put on the birth certificate .......if they were not married the mum hilda in this case could only do it if Andrew was present .....OR the birth could have been re registered after the marriage of the parents ( but again that was after a certain date 1970ish I think)

i have tried to look for a ANN SMITH who married but thats ......hard work

is there anyone who you could ask?

Damion

Damion Report 19 Jul 2014 23:16

KempinaPartyhat

KempinaPartyhat Report 19 Jul 2014 23:08

KempinaPartyhat

KempinaPartyhat Report 19 Jul 2014 23:00

so to look for a child born ann smith with a mother with her maiden name you put in the top box of freebmd SMITH then in the box Spouse/Mother surname you add warne and add possible dates 1930 to 1960 and search

I cant find anything

I doesnt mean she doesnt excist it means she may not be entered her yet name may not be Ann....

And so if you take the above as being right how did Andrew marry Hilda in 1943
>>Smith Andrew T Warne Nthmbld.S. 10b 655 Scan available - click to view
>>Warne Hilda Smith Nthmbld.S. 10b 655
in nthmbld ?Northumberland South

This is why this game isnt easy

Prehaps you could ask on FIND LIVING RELATIVES which is on the list to your left they may be able to help

Hilda would have been his 2nd wife. Im sure youll understand about being weary about giving names out over the internet but here goes.

Andrew was married to my gran Annie Smith, they had a son called Dennis Smith, he was my dad. He was born in 1946 and died in 1990

Andrew and my gran also had a daughter called Ann, i dont know when she was born but is about 70yrs old and is still alive.

KempinaPartyhat i missed ur question earlier. I found out on Ancestry that he died in 2003. I rang the registrar in Newcastle, they told me he had died in Nov 2003 aged 85. I visited his grave today which is where i then found out his wife Hilda Smith had died 21st Jan 2010 aged 94yrs
