That's much more likely Margee - although I can't find a birth that corresponds with the baptism.

EDIT - I wonder if his mother perhaps went back to Ireland to give birth to him and then came back to England to have him baptised???

Oh dear, Kath, I hadn't noticed that I had the wrong DOB. Thanks for pointing that out.

That birth and death can't be Patricia's grandfather if he died aged 4.

We need Patricia to come back and let us know how she knows her grandfather's exact date of birth without a birth certificate as the Lancashire one found is 14 years earlier than the date she gives for her grandfather's birth.

Where was he born? Do you have his birth certificate and if not how do you know his exact date of birth?

Was the family Roman Catholic?
They normally use the Latin version of Christian names at baptism

I have puzzled for a long time regarding my grandfather who doesn't appear on various censuses! I was searching Stephen Brennan. I just found on family search.org a Stephanus Brennan born 2/11/1892 (exactly right!) and Christened in a local church so this must be him. Now when I put that name into this genes reunited search engine it throws up no one. Why is this? Any ideas. His father is Stephani brennan. Why would people have such names in Northern England at that time? And also having Irish ancestry? Grateful for any experts thoughts on this
