His father Henry's occupation is given as Book Edge Gilder (Deceased) on the marriage record.

So the 1891 census i posted looks good!

Edit......Address given at time of marriage is....

86 Farringdon Buildings....the family were residing at 189 Farringdon Rd Buildings in 1891.

Most of these transcriptions come from Ancestry.co.uk.

When the majority of us started, GR didn't hold any records but was purely a 'connections' site. No one site has a monopoply on all the availabel on-line records, but old habits die hard ;-)

He lived at 8 Upper Ashby Street Sylvia.
Sn did marry. He married Marry Ann Filkins I believe in 1894.

I don't know if sn had siblings

I cant see him on 1881 census to see who his parents were and if he had sibling.

Another possibility is his mother has married/remarried and he appears under hs step father's name.

The initial response is that he has been mistranscibed. Have you checked if he is with his parents or other siblings?
The 1881 is available for free on all sites including https://familysearch.org/
Try looking on there as they may have transcribed it correctly

If you'd like to give us more details, we can have a look for you.

I'm stuck on my great great granddad. I'm unable to find him on 1881 census as a child until he has children of his own and I can find him on 1901 and 1911 census can anyone suggest anything please!
