Hi All,

Thank you for your amazing research results.

The persistence of Argyll Gran, Chris Ho, and Gritty, is overwhelming.
We are so grateful for all the details you have found.

Not forgetting the many other contributions of members who helped with the many aspects of the families of James (all of them!) and William, that we did not know about.

You have all helped to uncover a profoundly interesting history for us; William and his father’s and their ancestors lives have come alive to us for the first time in over 50years.

We have a clear identification of Marjorie’s parental line ancestors with additional background details; many more than we ever expected, Enough to keep us busy with our own investigations for the foreseeable future.

Thanks to Chris for mentioning the other tree owners with possible connections I will make contact with them.

We cannot possibly thank you all enough for your help.

I will leave the thread open for a few days to allow any last and final discoveries that may appear, before marking my question as answered.

Best regards
James Ballantyne.

This is possibly where James Leslie snr. worked /lived in the gardeners cottage there is only one Wellfield House in Duns....

Georgian Wellfield House and Lodge at Duns, 15 miles from Berwick, was originally built for the sheriff of Berwickshire in about 1780, and is believed to have once been part of the Duns Castle estate.
