Ah.......so it's the 9 year old boy who appears as Willie on the 1901 census.

I get it now.

Ok yes that is them in 1901. in the 1891 census that is my other great uncle Frederick William Dodd b1890. There were two other children born to William and Ellen - Bessie b 1894 and my Grandmother Edith b 1895.

That census with the brother living in is 1901................not 1911

Thanks very much for your help . Williams parents were William George Dodd b (1865) and Ellen Jago (b1865).

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to find out what happened to my mothers uncle William George Dodd b Tavistock 1891. I have him in the 1901 census with his family and cannot find him after this.

My Mum remembers visiting him in a care home around 1950 . She was told he was shell shocked in WW 1. A very quiet man who hardly spoke during the visit. I cant seem to find any military records for him. I am thinking maybe it was Exe Moor Hospital.

I would really like to find out about him before living memory of him has gone. It seems even more important since it is the centenary of the war this year. My Mum is 86 and I would love to be able to tell her about her uncle.

Any help much appreciated.
