All this speculation could be focused on the right guy if Elizabeth would only return and say who his parents are on his marr cert - something that should have been in the original post.

Many thanks everyone you have all been a great help to me. Marie Celeste you have the right name for my grandmother.
I have sent for birth certificate. I hope now I will have proper date of birth as I have him down for a May birth and not December.
